WHAT IS SUTRA?
SUTRA is an acronym for the:
SOMERVILLE UNITED TENANTS & RESIDENTS ASSOCIATION
We are a group of friends and neighbours who have formed a body to discuss issues, voice concerns, and help influence local matters that affect all residents.
SUTRA works in concert with Lewisham Council as a sounding board and influencer, as well as helping in how best to spend any Council Funding targeted for our immediate area.
SUTRA is a non-profit organisation that can be joined by local authority tenants, leaseholders and homeowning residents that live within the boundaries of the SUTRA catchment area
Committee members do not receive any payment, and are all volunteers who just want to make a difference in the local community.
Our aims are to:
-
Help enrich the lives of local residents by developing a community spirit.
-
Promote and nurture social cohesion.
-
Help to eradicate loneliness and isolation.
-
Motivate local people to improve our environment.
-
prompting residents to support and endorse local businesses, inspiring the revitalization of Somerville and increasing general safety in the area.
We warmly welcome all residents and businesses in the surrounding Somerville area to join our lively discussions and social community events.
We require all meeting attendees to abide by our
Constitution and Code of Conduct.
If you would like more information about SUTRA,
Please just ask us-we are a friendly bunch!
Our meetings are held on a Tuesday every month except August and December
